The AFCAT 1 2026 scorecard contains several important details related to the candidate and the examination. These include the candidateโ€™s name, roll number, registration number, the branch applied for such as Flying, Technical, or Non-Technical, and the AFCAT cycle and exam date. The scorecard also shows the marks obtained out of 300, EKT marks for technical candidates where applicable, the official cut-off marks, qualifying status, and whether the candidate has been shortlisted for the Air Force Selection Board interview.

The cut-off marks for AFCAT 1 2026 have been released along with the result and can be checked through the candidate login on the AFCAT portal. The cut-off is determined based on several factors such as the difficulty level of the examination, the total number of candidates who appeared for the test, the number of vacancies available, and the overall performance of candidates. Only those candidates who score equal to or above the cut-off marks are shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process.

Candidates who qualify in the written examination will now move forward to the Air Force Selection Board interview. Shortlisted candidates must log in to the AFCAT website and choose their preferred AFSB interview date and centre. The AFSB centres for the interview are located in Dehradun, Mysuru, Gandhinagar, and Varanasi. After selecting the interview slot, candidates can download their AFSB call letter from the portal.

The AFSB interview is a comprehensive five-day selection process designed to evaluate whether a candidate possesses the qualities required to become an officer in the Indian Air Force. During the interview process, candidates are assessed on multiple aspects including intelligence and reasoning ability, psychological suitability, leadership qualities, communication skills, and physical stamina. The process aims to identify candidates who demonstrate officer-like qualities and the potential to serve in the armed forces.

Candidates appearing for the AFSB interview must carry several important documents when reporting to the selection centre. These include the AFSB call letter, AFCAT admit card, and a printed copy of the AFCAT scorecard. Candidates must also bring their Class 10 mark sheet and certificate as proof of date of birth, Class 12 mark sheet and certificate, graduation mark sheets for all semesters or years, and the degree certificate if the degree has been completed. Engineering degree certificates are required for candidates applying for the Technical Branch. Candidates who possess an NCC certificate should also carry it along with a valid photo identity proof such as Aadhaar card, passport, driving licence, or voter ID. Passport-size photographs as mentioned in the call letter instructions must also be carried.

Candidates who successfully clear the AFSB interview will then undergo a detailed medical examination. The medical standards vary slightly for different branches but include requirements related to height, weight, vision, hearing, blood pressure, and general physical fitness. For the Flying Branch, both male and female candidates must have a minimum height of 162.5 cm, while for Ground Duty branches the minimum height is 157.5 cm for males and 152 cm for females. Vision standards, dental points, and other health parameters must also meet the prescribed Indian Air Force medical guidelines.

After the completion of the medical examination, the Indian Air Force will prepare the final merit list based on the candidateโ€™s performance in the AFCAT written examination and the AFSB interview. Candidates who make it to the merit list will be offered joining for training at the Air Force Academy. The course for selected candidates is expected to commence in January 2027. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official AFCAT website for updates regarding the interview schedule, call letters, and further stages of the selection process.
