The helicopter involved in the crash was a Cheetah Helicopter, one of the older choppers in the Army and IAF fleets. The aging fleet of the aforementioned helicopters will be replaced by Light Utility Helicopters developed in-house (LUH). These new-generation helicopters will be classified as three-tonnes and will be outfitted with cutting-edge technology.
