On October 4, 2025, a significant event took place at Kaisampat in Imphal, where Assam Rifles held a celebration to honor participants from its Skill Development Programme 4.0. This initiative focuses on empowering local youth by providing vocational training and enhancing employment opportunities.
The program was a collaborative effort between Assam Rifles and We Care Skill Solutions, an organization based in Imphal that specializes in skill development. A total of 56 young participants, including 18 boys and 30 girls, completed a comprehensive 12-week vocational training course centered on hospitality and retail. This training is designed to boost their employability and equip them for careers in the service sector.
The ceremony featured notable attendees, including the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Assam Rifles and the Director of Gaurav Pradhan Foundation, a Ghaziabad-based NGO that financially backed the initiative. During the event, participants were recognized for their accomplishments, receiving certificates accredited by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). They also received offer letters from esteemed employers like The Leela Palace in Jaipur, Leela Ambience & Convention Centre in New Delhi, Sunday Hotel & Residences in Gurgaon, and Foodlink F&B Holdings Ltd. in Mumbai. The newly trained professionals are expected to embark on their careers in these major cities.
In his address, the DIG praised the participants for their dedication and effort, emphasizing the transformative impact of skill development on their futures. He lauded the partnership between We Care Skill Solutions and the Gaurav Pradhan Foundation, encouraging the youth to act as “Brand Ambassadors” for Manipur’s rich cultural heritage.
This event signifies the fourth iteration of Assam Rifles’ Skill Development Programme, which has already aided around 200 young individuals in securing employment since its inception in June 2024. The successes of this initiative highlight Assam Rifles’ unwavering commitment to socio-economic development, improving livelihood prospects, and empowering the youth of Northeast India.
The ceremony not only celebrated the trainees’ accomplishments but also reaffirmed Assam Rifles’ dedication to fostering a skilled, self-reliant, and prosperous future for the region.
