Bengal Sappers Inaugurate Data Hub and SAMADHAAN at BEG Centre Roorkee

At the Bengal Engineer Group (BEG) Centre in Roorkee, the Bengal Sappers marked October 24, 2024 with the launch of two administrative measures aimed at improving how records and grievances are handled.

The Bengal Sappers Data Hub and SAMADHAAN were inaugurated by Lieutenant General Sukriti Singh Dahiya, SM, VSM, Colonel Commandant of the Bengal Sappers and Military Survey. The ceremony reflected the regimentโ€™s stated push to modernise internal administration while strengthening support for serving personnel, veterans and their dependents.

The Data Hub has been created to support the digitisation and orderly management of service records and official documents. Its purpose is to move away from older record-handling methods and towards a digital system that is easier to organise, access and maintain.

According to the information provided with the initiative, this digital arrangement is expected to improve the accuracy, transparency and accessibility of personnel records. It is also intended to assist in timely promotions, career management and quicker administrative decisions, while reducing delays linked to manual paperwork.

SAMADHAAN was introduced alongside the Data Hub as a grievance redressal initiative for serving soldiers, ex-servicemen and their dependents.

The system is designed to ensure that complaints and requests are managed through a transparent, structured and time-bound process. Its focus is on monitoring, accountability and timely resolution, so that personnel and families can receive administrative assistance in an organised way.

The initiative is especially relevant for veterans and dependents who may need help with service-related matters, documentation or other official concerns. Through a structured mechanism, the Bengal Sappers aim to make responses more effective and to strengthen confidence in institutional support systems.

Together, the Data Hub and SAMADHAAN show the regimentโ€™s emphasis on combining technology with welfare support for its community. The measures also fit within the Indian Armyโ€™s broader stress on digital empowerment, transparent governance and better administrative efficiency.

By introducing these systems at BEG Centre, Roorkee, the Bengal Sappers have taken another step towards a more efficient and accountable administrative setup. The developments are intended to support soldiers and their families both during service and after military life.

The initiativeโ€™s significance, as presented by the regiment, lies in its attempt to make record management and grievance handling more streamlined, reliable and digitally enabled at the unit level.
