10+2 TES Entry

• Conducted for selection of eligible candidates suitable for training at the Officers Training Academy, Gaya followed by 3 years Pre Commission Training and 1 year Post Commission Training at CME Pune or MCTE Mhow or MCEME Secunderabad.
• The candidates will be awarded engineering degrees at end of their training of four years .
• Number of seats is around 90 each term

Eligibility and Process:

• Candidates of the age group 16.5-19.5 years (at the time of joining) are eligible to apply if they have secured at least 60% aggregate in Physics, Maths and Chemistry, in his class XII boards and appeared in JEE(Mains) Exam .
• After registration on joindianarmy.nic.in candidates would be shortlisted on basis of their ranks in JEE(Mains) Exam.
• Shortlisted will candidates will be called up at one of the SSBs for the SSB Interview. Candidate recommended by the SSB Board will have their medical tests conducted at the designated Military Hospital.

Candidates declared ‘fit’ by the medical board will be issued joining letters as per all India merit lists based on marks secured in SSB Interview.

TGC Entry

Technical Graduate Course

Nature of commission: Permanent

Age Criteria: 20-27 years at the time of joining

Graduation: Final Year or Completed their engineering from a recognized institute/ M.Sc(Computer Science)

Training: 49 weeks at IMA, Dehradun

Approx Number of seats: Around 40 each term

Candidates apply for TGC entry as per notification on joinindianarmy website. Then cutoffs are announced in different streams that are different cutoffs for Mechanical, different for CS, etc. Shortlisted candidates are called up for SSB Interview, followed by medicals, and then issued joining letters as per all India merit lists based on marks secured in SSB Interview and fitness status as declared by the medical board.

SSC(Tech) Entry

Nature of commission: Temporary

Age Criteria: 20-27 years at the time of joining

Graduation: Final Year or Completed their engineering from a recognized institute/ M.Sc(Computer Science)

Training: 49 weeks at OTA, Chennai

Approx Number of seats: Around 190 each term

A similar process to TGC Entry: Candidates apply for SSC entry as per notification on joinindianarmy website. Then cutoffs are announced in different streams that are different cutoffs for Mechanical, different for CS, etc. Shortlisted candidates will undergo the same process of SSB Interview, followed by medicals, and then issued joining letters as per all India merit lists based on marks secured in SSB Interview.

NCC Entry

Nature of commission: Temporary

Age Criteria: 19-25 years at the time of joining

Eligibility:

• Graduation: Minimum of 50 percent marks aggregate in Graduation
• NCC: Minimum B grade in NCC ‘C’ Certificate Examination

Training: 49 weeks at OTA, Chennai

Approx Number of seats: Around 50 each term

Candidates can apply for NCC entry as per notification on joinindianarmy website. Shortlisted candidates will be called up for SSB Interview, followed by medicals, and then issued joining letters as per all India merit lists based on marks secured in SSB Interview and fitness as declared by the medical board.

JAG Entry

Nature of commission: Short Service Commission

Age Criteria: 21-27 years at the time of joining

Eligibility:

• Graduation: Minimum 55 percent marks in LLB(three years professional after graduation or five years after 10+2) from a college/university recognized by Bar Council of India
• The candidates should also be eligible for registration as an advocate with Bar Council of India/State.

Training: 49 weeks at OTA, Chennai

Approx Number of seats: Around 8-10 each term with 05-06 for men and 02-04 for women

Candidates can apply for JAG entry as per notification on joinindianarmy website. Candidates will be shortlisted on basis of marks secured in the qualifying exam of the course(LLB). Shortlisted candidates will be called up for SSB Interview, followed by medicals, and then issued joining letters as per all India merit lists based on marks secured in SSB Interview and fitness status as declared by the medical board.

Conclusion

Earlier there used to be AEC entry also where there was direct SSB call-up based on marks in degree exam but it was discontinued after 2017.
