In a significant initiative aimed at empowering the families of Indian Army personnel, the Blazing Sword Division of the Gajraj Corps has entered into a partnership with the Medhavi Foundation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration is set to provide free skill development courses at the Chandraprabha Kaushal Vikas Kendra in Missamari. This initiative is part of the government’s Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0 scheme, which aims to deliver NSDC-certified training programs specifically designed for the spouses, children, and Veer Naris of both current and retired service members.
The MoU represents a crucial step toward fostering economic self-reliance among military families, who often encounter unique employment challenges resulting from the mobile nature of army life. The skill development courses will encompass various sectors, including agriculture, automotive, and beauty and wellness, thereby aligning with India’s broader Skill India mission. This mission aims to equip the youth for both domestic and international job markets.
A formal ceremony marked the exchange of the MoU, attended by senior officials from both the Gajraj Corps and the Medhavi Foundation. The event took place under the Indian national flag and the emblem of the Gajraj Corps, highlighting a shared commitment to the welfare of military families. This skill development initiative not only supports the families of soldiers but also reflects the Indian Army’s broader vision of community engagement, particularly in the northeastern regions of India where the Blazing Sword Division plays a vital role in both defense and civic matters.
This initiative builds upon the Gajraj Corps’ history of making socio-cultural contributions, such as the establishment of the Kameng Museum in Arunachal Pradesh. Moreover, it aligns with national objectives by contributing to the PMKVY program, which has reportedly trained over 1.3 crore individuals across the country by 2023, as indicated by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
The partnership has garnered widespread acclaim for its aimed focus on addressing the specific needs of soldiers’ families. By providing tangible opportunities for skill enhancement and employment, it serves as a powerful acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers. The initiative marks a meaningful step toward ensuring that the families of servicemen can build secure and independent futures, fostering a sense of stability and empowerment.
