In a significant initiative aimed at enhancing collaboration and cyber awareness among future military leaders, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun, Ajai Singh, engaged with cadets from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) on Monday. This interaction served as a platform for sharing crucial insights into cyber safety, internal security, and the essential coordination between police and army forces.
During the session, 205 IMA cadets visited the Dehradun Police Office to gain a direct understanding of the operational dynamics of the Police Control Room (PCR). The visit aimed to highlight the interplay between the Army and Police during joint operations, reinforcing the necessity for synergy in addressing national security threats.
SSP Ajai Singh pointed out the collective responsibility shared by the Army and Police in maintaining internal security and public order. He emphasized the importance of effective collaboration between these two entities in tackling modern challenges such as terrorism, misinformation, and cybercrime.
In particular, the SSP raised awareness among the cadets about the emerging dangers in the digital landscape. He addressed specific threats like cyber scams targeting defense personnel, identity theft, and social engineering tactics often employed by cybercriminals. Singh underscored the importance of preventive measures to protect both personal and official data, urging cadets to practice digital discipline and remain vigilant during online interactions.
The cadets were also provided with a comprehensive overview of the Police Control Room’s functions, including the coordinated response mechanisms facilitated through the 112 helpline system. SSP Singh elaborated on how the control room acts as the nerve center for emergency response and crisis management, ensuring that citizens receive timely assistance during various emergencies.
This interactive session was an enriching experience for the cadets, equipping them with a deeper understanding of how the Army and Police can bolster each other’s efforts in upholding national security and public order. The interaction concluded with SSP Ajai Singh encouraging the cadets to maintain technological awareness and uphold a strong sense of duty, discipline, and coordination as they prepare to transition into commissioned officers in the Indian Army.
This initiative highlights the continued importance of fostering ongoing engagement between the armed forces and civil police, aimed at building a more cohesive and responsive security ecosystem for the nation.
