On the occasion of the New Year, Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Command, undertook a visit to various formations, engaging directly with troops. During this visit, he conveyed his New Year greetings and reinforced the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to operational readiness, soldier morale, and welfare.
In his interactions, Lt Gen Sengupta commended the troops for their professionalism, dedication, and vigilance. He urged them to maintain high standards of preparedness while continuing to uphold the ethos and values fundamental to the Indian Army.
A significant highlight of the visit was the inauguration of new facilities for veterans, including a Veteran Lounge. This move reaffirmed the Army’s enduring bond with veterans and their families. Lt Gen Sengupta emphasized that the well-being of veterans is a core responsibility of the Army and an integral part of its value system.
Further, the Army Commander conducted a thorough review of operational preparedness at the Headquarters of the Paschim Uttar Pradesh Sub Area (PUPSA). He received briefings on various aspects such as security measures, administrative efficiency, and current readiness levels.
In addition, his visit included a stop at the Headquarters of the Base Workshop Group EME in Meerut, where he was presented with updates on ongoing indigenisation and modernisation efforts. This initiative included the development and deployment of dual-use equipment and drone systems, aligned with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and the broader transformation goals of the Indian Army.
Lt Gen Sengupta expressed appreciation for the efforts made by EME personnel in integrating indigenous technologies and innovative solutions aimed at enhancing operational capability and sustainability.
