Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan has made a significant visit to Udhampur, where he assessed the operational readiness and strategic outcomes of the Indian Army’s Northern Command. His discussions with Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, and senior staff officers at the Northern Command headquarters were aimed at reviewing recent operational successes.
A key focus of the visit was the Northern Army’s effective neutralization of terror infrastructure and the hostile assets that support cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. General Chauhan received an in-depth briefing about the precision-led operations and the multilayered countermeasures that are being deployed to ensure the safety of both military installations and civilian populations during Operation Sindoor.
During the briefing, it was highlighted that Operation Sindoor was launched in response to elevated threats along the northern border, making it a vital initiative for protecting the region from hostile infiltration and terror networks.
