A member of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) from Rajasthan lost his life after a tragic accident in Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred on the evening of July 25, when Suresh Kumar Maharia, a resident of Kansarda ki Dhani in Jajod, Shri Madhopur, slipped and fell into a 60-foot-deep gorge.
Reports indicate that Maharia had exited a vehicle near Lahgadua-Ankhawadi and was making his way to a nearby hill when the accident happened. Following the slip, emergency responders alongside the Parasia Police initiated a rescue operation that lasted nearly two hours, complicated by heavy rainfall in the area. Rescuers utilized ropes to extract him from the ravine, after which he was rushed to a local hospital. Unfortunately, medical personnel pronounced him dead upon arrival.
The news of Maharia’s untimely demise has left his family and community in deep sorrow. His body is expected to arrive in Shri Madhopur around noon, where a funeral procession will take place with full military honors, including the display of the national flag.
Maharia joined the CISF back in 2015 and is survived by his wife, a homemaker, and their two children—a daughter currently in college and a son in Class 10. His family background includes a father engaged in agriculture, a deceased mother, and a younger brother who works in the private sector, while his brother’s wife serves in the Rajasthan Police.
The incident has deeply affected Maharia’s native village, casting a pall of grief over the community as they mourn the loss of a dedicated service member.
