“If four things are followed – having a great aim, acquiring knowledge, hard work, and perseverance – then anything can be achieved.” – APJ Abdul Kalam
Jai Hind to all the ladies and gentlemen reading this. My name is Divyang Bhai, and I am pleased to announce that I have cleared my SSB interview from 11 SSB Allahabad for SSC(T-62) entry. Like most defence aspirants, I too have dreamed of joining the army since childhood. Being an army brat and growing up in a military environment with my father, I have inculcated many qualities from him. His work ethics, discipline, confidence, courage, and camaraderie fueled my motivation and desire to join the army.
Regarding my school and college life, I completed my matriculation from Army Public School Ahmedabad and my B.Tech from Nirma University Ahmedabad. Back in those days, I was a very tough and notorious kid. Every month at parent-teacher meetings, there were remarks about me being very naughty in class and sometimes needing disciplinary actions. However, as I grew up, I realized the same and worked on my personality, acquiring enough knowledge and shaping myself into a person who is admirable and respected.
Being a fresher, this was my very first SSB, and with my confidence and positive attitude, I got recommended for SSC(Tech-62) on my first attempt, and that too without any coaching or mentor.
The success mantra that I followed was to be myself and to showcase my real perspective. This approach helped me in relieving my anxiety and negative thoughts.
This positive approach helped me during my 5 days of assessment.
In terms of preparation for the SSB, I focused mainly on writing good TAT stories, and the rest was all about my spontaneous and positive responses. I used to ponder my thoughts in my mind before any discussion and never missed any chance to take the initiative. I was actively participating in group discussions and expressing my thoughts with great confidence. These positive approaches really helped me in getting recommended.
