SWAYAM Plus

  • In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced the launch of the SWAYAM Plus platform, operated by IIT-Madras.
  • This initiative aims to provide industry-relevant courses to enhance the employability of learners, including working professionals.
  • Key Features of SWAYAM Plus Platform:
  • Collaboration with industry leaders such as L&T, Microsoft, CISCO, and others to develop courses aligned with industry needs.
  • Multilingual content, AI-enabled guidance, credit recognition, and pathways to employment are integrated into the platform.

Sumji faction & Bhat faction as Unlawful Associations

  • The central government, under Section 3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, has declared two factions of the Muslim Conference in Jammu & Kashmir as unlawful associations.
  • This measure aims to combat terrorism and preserve national security.
  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah made the announcement via a statement on social media platform X, highlighting the government’s dedication to dismantling terror networks and safeguarding the nation’s integrity.

  • Engaged in activities detrimental to India’s sovereignty and integrity.
  • Actively supporting terrorist activities to separate Jammu and Kashmir from the Indian union.

Urban Frame Survey Using Bhuvan

  • In a significant move toward modernization, the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has partnered with the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) under the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to digitize the Urban Frame Survey (UFS) using advanced Geo ICT tools and techniques through the Bhuvan Platform.
  • Facilitating the Urban Frame Survey (UFS) in a digital mode to enhance efficiency and accuracy in data collection and maintenance.

  • Signed by Shri Subash Chandra Malik, Additional Director General, NSSO, MoSPI, and Dr. Srinivasa Rao S, Deputy Director, BGWSA, NRSC, in the presence of key officials.
  • Development/improvement of mobile application for Geo-tagging of NSSO Urban Frame Survey data.
  • Creation of a web portal for visualization, data scrutiny, editing, etc., of data submitted through the mobile application.
  • QGIS plug-in development for accessing captured polygons.
  • Fine-tuning of Block, IV-unit, Ward, and Town boundaries of UFS using High-Resolution Satellite Imagery.

Pharmacopoeia Recognition

  • India and Nicaragua have forged a significant partnership in the field of pharmaceutical regulation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Pharmacopoeia recognition.
  • This milestone agreement marks Nicaragua as the first nation in the Spanish-speaking world to recognize the Indian Pharmacopeia, showcasing the growing global recognition of India’s pharmaceutical standards.

  • India’s Ambassador to Nicaragua, Dr. Sumit Seth, and Nicaragua’s Minister of Health, Dr. Martha Reyes, signed the MoU on Pharmacopoeia cooperation between the two nations. This MoU underscores the commitment of both countries to collaborate in regulating medicines and ensuring quality healthcare for their citizens.
  • With this MoU, Nicaragua joins a select group of nations that recognize the Indian Pharmacopeia (IP).

RIL Signs Deal With Disney
