EAM S Jaishankar meets UNGA President
- External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar Met UNGA President Philemon Yang In New Delhi. In A Social Media Post, Dr Jaishankar Said They Discussed Various Issues On The UN Agenda, Including The Need For Reformed Multilateralism.

Banning Transgender Women From Sports
- United States President Donald Trump has signed an executive order into law keeping men out of women’s sports and also prohibiting transgender women and girls from competing in women’s sports.
- The order has directed agencies to withdraw federal funding for any schools that refused to comply. The order also directed the State Department to push the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to make similar changes at the international level by making eligibility determined according to sex and not gender identity or testosterone reduction. The order was signed on the occasion of National Girls and Women in Sports Day in the US yesterday.
India’s First AI University
- Maharashtra is set to establish India’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) university, marking a significant step in advancing AI education, research, and innovation. A task force has been formed to plan and implement the project, bringing together experts from academia, industry, and government.
- The university aims to promote research and development, enhance technological innovation, support skill development, and shape AI policies, making Maharashtra a global hub for AI education and innovation.

AI-Generated Child Abuse Content
- United Kingdom is taking a historic step in the fight against child sexual abuse by becoming the first country to criminalize AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
- The British government is introducing strict legal measures to tackle the exploitation of artificial intelligence (AI) in the creation and distribution of child abuse content.
- These measures aim to prevent the misuse of generative AI tools for the production of CSAM and ensure severe punishments for offenders. On February 1, 2025, the UK Home Office announced a series of legislative changes aimed at curbing AI-generated CSAM.
- These laws will be part of a broader Crime and Policing Bill, expected to be tabled in Parliament in the coming weeks. The move comes in response to growing concerns that AI-powered tools are being used to create highly realistic CSAM, making it easier to spread and harder to detect.
- AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM) refers to images and videos that are either completely or partially created using artificial intelligence. AI tools can manipulate existing images, generate entirely new and highly realistic abuse content, and even replace a child’s face with another in abusive materials. These advancements pose a severe threat to child protection efforts, as they enable offenders to create and distribute illegal content with increasing sophistication.
- The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) has reported an alarming 380% increase in AI-generated CSAM within a year. In 2024, there were 245 confirmed reports of AI-generated child abuse content compared to just 51 in 2023. Experts warn that generative AI has made it significantly easier for criminals to create realistic-looking abuse content, leading to an unprecedented surge in its circulation.
India’s First White Tiger Breeding Centre
- Central Zoo Authority (CZA) has approved India’s first white tiger breeding centre in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district. This initiative marks a significant step in wildlife conservation, especially since Rewa is historically linked to the last known wild white tiger.
- The project, initially approved in principle in 2011, will be established in Govindgarh, near the state’s only white tiger safari in Mukundpur. The breeding centre is expected to enhance biodiversity conservation, promote wildlife tourism, and create job opportunities for the local population.
- Rewa is known as the home of Mohan, the last wild white tiger, discovered in Govindgarh jungle in 1951 by Maharaja Martand Singh Judeo. The maharaja initiated a white tiger breeding and conservation programme, leading to the global spread of white tigers in captivity. The centre is part of a revised master plan for the Maharaja Martand Singh Judeo White Tiger Safari and Zoo in Mukundpur.
First Black Mrs World
- Soweto-born Tshego Gaelae has made history by becoming the first Black woman to win the Mrs World 2025 title at the grand finale in Las Vegas. The 34-year-old attorney and 2024 Mrs South Africa Queen follows in the footsteps of Candice Abrahams, the only other South African to hold the title (2016).
- Gaelae’s victory is a milestone in the pageant’s 40-year history, and she plans to use this platform to champion women’s empowerment while representing South Africa on a global stage.
Govt Allocates ₹10,900 Cr for PM e-DRIVE
- Over 16 lakh 14 thousand electric vehicles have been supported by the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, FAME II scheme, till the end of last year.
- In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma informed that the FAME-II scheme has been implemented across the country, covering urban and rural areas to promote electric mobility and reduce pollution.
- In another written reply, the minister said 10 thousand 900 crore rupees have been allocated under PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM e-DRIVE), and the scheme will be implemented for two years till March 2026. Under the scheme, electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, e-trucks, emerging electric vehicles, e-buses, e-ambulances, and EV public charging stations will get support.
