Polaris Dawn Mission

  • SpaceX plans to launch Polaris Dawn, a commercial space project that is coming up soon. It is a big step forward for civilian space travel because it has the first private extravehicular activity, or “spacewalk,” and its crew is made up of only civilians.
image 277
  • Polaris Dawn is funded in large part by U.S. billionaire Jared Isaacman, who is a key figure in both missions.
  • Polaris Dawn wants to reach several important goals. One of the most important ones is doing the first private spacewalk.
image 278
  • The mission will also focus on scientific study that is important for human health in space. This will include experiments that will be done in conditions of low gravity.
  • Another new technology that is being tried is adding Starlink WiFi to their spacecraft. This could make it easier for future space missions to communicate.
  • SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, which has been used before for crewed spaceflight, is the craft chosen for this trip.

  • Jared Isaacman is one of the four team members that Polaris Dawn will take into space. The mission aims to reach a high orbit about 700 kilometers above Earth.
  • This will be the highest-altitude flight with people on board since the Apollo moon trip. The crew should spend about five days in orbit around Earth, which will give them plenty of time to do the planned tests and the spacewalk.
  • The Polaris Dawn mission could have a big impact on future policy and progress in international space exploration by making it easier for civilians to go into space and trying new technologies.

Ganga Waters Treaty

  • Ganga Waters Treaty, which India and Bangladesh signed in 1996, will be discussed again. This pact, which is mostly about the fair sharing of  water from the Ganga River, which both countries share, needs to be renewed in 2026.

  • It makes sure that everyone gets an equal share of the water and stops one country from taking it during dry seasons. The deal is meant to end disagreements by ensuring a certain flow of water to Bangladesh during times when drought is likely to happen.
image 281
  • A joint committee was set up to keep an eye on how the  water is distributed and check the flow rates at the Farakka Barrage, which is close to their border.
  • This group is in charge of making sure that the deal is followed and settling any disagreements that come up.
  • Ganga Waters Treaty is a rare example of long-term river water-sharing cooperation in South Asia. It encourages the two countries to work together in the future, even though it has been criticized and faced problems.

At one point, around 20,000 children were employed in this work. child labour-free mica initiative was launched 20 years ago, involving the state government, district administration, village panchayats, civil society, and the central government.

  • NCPCR later joined the initiative. The campaign identified child labourers who were out of school, removed them from mining activities, and enrolled them in schools. Efforts were made to ensure children remained in school and did not return to mining.
  • Established In 2007 Under The Commission For Protection Of Child Rights (CPCR) Act, 2005
