World Thyroid Day 2026

Every year on 25 May, the world observes World Thyroid Day to spread awareness about thyroid health and the increasing number of thyroid-related disorders across the globe. The day emphasizes the need for timely diagnosis, proper medical care, and public understanding of thyroid diseases that affect millions of people worldwide.

The official global theme for World Thyroid Day 2026 is “Thyroid and Nutrition.” The theme highlights the close relationship between healthy nutrition and proper thyroid functioning.

The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped endocrine gland located in the neck. It produces hormones that regulate many important functions of the human body. These hormones help in maintaining metabolism, energy production, growth, and hormonal balance.

The thyroid hormones are responsible for controlling several essential body activities, including:

  • Energy metabolism
  • Heart rate
  • Body temperature
  • Growth and development
  • Brain function
  • Reproductive health

Health experts stress that awareness, regular health check-ups, and balanced nutrition can help in preventing and managing thyroid disorders effectively.

Kumbhalgarh Fort Recognized as World’s Second Longest Continuous Wall

Kumbhalgarh Fort has been recognized as having the world’s second-longest continuous intact wall after the Great Wall of China. The recognition highlights the fort’s exceptional architectural and historical significance.
