  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the formation Ram janma bhoomi teerth kshetra trust in a speech he made in the Lok Sabha .Ram janma bhoomi teerth kshetra trust is headed by K Parasaran, former attorney general and Senior supreme court lawyer.
  • Rbi in its Bimonthly policy has kept its repo rate unchanged .
    1. Repo rate – 5.15%
    1. Reverse Repo – 4.9%
    1. Marginal standing facility – 5.4%
  • Atal Bhujal Yojna –Government of India has approved Atal Bhujal Yojana (Atal Jal), a Rs.6000 Crore Central Sector Scheme, for sustainable management of ground water resources with community participation in water stressed blocks of Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The scheme is being implemented during 2020-21 to 2024-25 with the financial assistance of World Bank with a sharing pattern of 50:50 between Government of India and World Bank. The Scheme has two components viz. Institutional Strengthening & Capacity Building component and Incentive component with outlays of Rs.1400 crore of Rs.4600 crore respectively.
  • Vivad se vishwas scheme – Finance Minister has announced the Vivad se Vishwas scheme union Budget 2020  with the aim to settle the huge number of pending direct tax cases. The Vivad se vishwas scheme offers a complete waiver on interest and penalty to the taxpayers who pay their pending taxes by March 31. The scheme aims to benefit those whose tax demands are locked in dispute in multiple forums.
  • High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) is the DRDO laboratory working in the development of spectrum of high energy materials required for missiles, rockets and guns. During DefExpo 2020, HEMRL, Pune signed technology development contract with Rosoboronexport, Russia for development of Advanced Pyrotechnic Ignition Systems.
  • India’s biggest rural technical festival ‘Antahpragnya 2020’ started in Telangana.
  • Insurance cover on bank deposits has been increased from 1lk to 5lk Insurance cover on bank deposits has been increased to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 1 lakh . RBI said, has been done with a view to providing a greater measure of protection to depositors.
