D-Fend Solutions has launched an advanced system called “EnforceAir2 Maritime,” which is specifically engineered for counter-drone operations in maritime environments. This innovative technology aims to address the growing concern of unauthorized drones posing potential threats at sea by providing capabilities for detection, tracking, and neutralizing these aerial intruders.
The EnforceAir2 Maritime system boasts a scalable design, making it adaptable to various maritime conditions, ensuring the protection of ports, harbors, and key transportation routes without disrupting existing communication networks. This feature is particularly crucial given the unique challenges faced in naval and maritime counter-drone operations, as articulated by D-Fend Solutions’ President and Chief Product Officer, Yaniv Benbenisti. He emphasized the importance of developing solutions that prioritize safety and facilitate advanced communication while countering drone threats.
Among the standout features of EnforceAir2 Maritime is its integration of a software-defined radio, which is specifically tailored to withstand the harsh weather conditions often experienced at sea. Additionally, it is equipped with an ultra-wide-band radome antenna that supports comprehensive 360-degree coverage, making it suitable for both ground and shipboard installations. Designed with flexibility in mind, the system’s compact structure allows for seamless integration with existing naval defense systems.
The introduction of EnforceAir2 Maritime comes at a time when the defense industry globally is ramping up the development of counter-drone technologies. Just last month, Lockheed Martin launched a scalable counter-drone system that detects, tracks, and neutralizes multiple low-flying drones through a sophisticated network of sensors and command-and-control capabilities. In the same period, DZYNE Technologies presented a wearable counter-small unmanned aerial system that can engage hostile drones from a distance of up to 7 kilometers (4.3 miles). Earlier this year, India’s Solar Group conducted tests on a kinetic counter-drone swarm system designed specifically for the Indian Army.
As threats from unmanned aerial vehicles continue to evolve, D-Fend Solutions and other defense organizations are demonstrating an increasing commitment to developing sophisticated solutions to ensure maritime safety and security. The EnforceAir2 Maritime system represents a significant advancement in the fight against drone-related risks in the maritime sphere.
