  • Site On The Moon Where The Chandrayaan 2 Lander Crash Landed Will Be Known As Tiranga Point.
  • The Prime Minister Also Announced That August 23rd Will Be Celebrated As The National Space Day. It Was On This Day That The ISRO Chandrayaan Mission Made History By Landing Near The South Pole Of The Moon.
  • He Also Announced A National Quiz Programme On Chandrayaan 3 Through Mygov Portal.
  •  He Pointed Out That Arya Bhatta, Varahamihira And Bhaskaracharya Had Made Discoveries About The Round Shape Of Earth And That It Is Flowing In Space On An Axis.

Indian Women’s Team Wins IBSA World Cup

  • Indian Women’s Visually Impaired Team Won Final Of The International Blind Sports Federation (Ibsa) World Games At Birmingham. The Indian Team Defeated Australia.
  • In Cricket, Indian Men’s Visually Impaired Team Settled For A Silver Medal
  • The Cricket Game Was Included In The IBSA World Games For The First Time & This Is The First-Ever Edition Of Blind Cricket In The IBSA World Games.
  • And India’s Both Men’s And Women’s Blind Teams Reached The Finals To Ensure A Medal For India.

3rd  High-Level Dialogue Between India & EU

  • After 9 Years Of Lull The Third High-Level Dialogue Between India And The European Union Was Held In New Delhi.
  • During The Meeting,  Commerce And Industry Minister Piyush Goyal And Executive Vice President Of The European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis Took Stock Of The Ongoing Three Negotiations Between India And The EU.
  •  These Negotiations Consist Of An India-EU Free Trade Agreement; A Standalone Investment Protection Agreement; & A Geographical Indications Agreement.
  • They Acknowledged That Both Sides Have Made Good Progress In The Same.
  • The Upcoming World Trade Organisation MC-13 Matters Which Is To Be Held In UAE  Were Also Briefly Discussed During The Meeting.

Aditya-L1 To Be Launched In First Week Of September

  • Aditya-L1 Is The First Space-Based Indian Observatory To Study The Sun. The Spacecraft Shall Be Placed In A Halo Orbit Around The Lagrange Point 1 (L1) Of The Sun-Earth System, Which Is About 1.5 Million Km From The Earth.
  • India Is Capable Of Launching More Interplanetary Missions And The Objective Of The Space Agency Is The Overall Progress Of The Country Through The Expansion Of The Space Sector.
  • The Major Sobjectives Of Aditya-L1 Mission Are:
  • Study Of Solar Upper Atmospheric Dynamics, Study Of Chromospheric And Coronal Heating, Initiation Of The Coronal Mass Ejections, And Flares

Exercise Bright Star-23

  • An Indian Air Force Contingent Departed, For Participating In Exercisebright STAR-23 A Biennial Multilateral Tri-Service Exercise Scheduled To Be Held At Cairo Air Base, Egypt.
  • This Is For 1ST Time That IAF Is Participating In Ex BRIGHT STAR-23 Which Will Also See Participation Of Contingents From The USA, Saudi Arabia, Greece & Qatar.
  • The Indian Air Force Contingent Will Consist Of Five Mig-29, Two IL-78, Two C-130 And Two C-17 Aircraft.
  •  Personnel From The IAF’s Garud Special Forces, As Well As Those From The Numbers 28, 77, 78 And 81 Squadrons Will Be Participating In The Exercise.
  • The Objective Of The Exercise Is To Practice Planning And Execution Of Joint Operations.
  •  India And Egypt Deep Cooperation Wherein The Two Jointly Undertook Development Of Aero-Engine And Aircraft In 1960s And Training Of Egyptian Pilots Was Done By Indian Counterparts.

  • “Ni-Kshay Mitra” Is An Initiative That Provides For Additional Diagnostic, Nutritional, And Vocational Support By Elected Representatives, Corporates, Organisations, Ngos, And Individuals To Those Undergoing Tb Treatment.

  • G20 Technical Workshop On One Health-Opportunities And Challenges Will Be Held In Bengaluru Hosted By The Indian Council Of Agricultural Research Under The Ministry Of Agriculture And Farmers Welfare.

Jal Shakti Ministry Releases 6th Census- MIS

  • The Ministry Of Jal Shakti Released The Report On The Sixth Census On Minor Irrigation Schemes.
  •  As Per The Report, 23.14 Million Minor Irrigation Schemes Have Been Reported In The Country, Out Of Which 21.93 Million Are Ground Water And 1.21 Million Are Surface Water Schemes.
  • For The 1st Time, The Information About Gender Of The Owner Of MI Scheme Was Also Collected In Case Of Individual Ownership.
  • Out Of All The Individually Owned Schemes, 18.1 Per Cent Are Owned By Women.
  • Uttar Pradesh Possesses The Largest Number Of Mi Schemes. Maharashtra Leads In SW Schemes Followed By Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha And Jharkhand.
  • The 1st  Census Of Minor Irrigation Schemes Was Conducted With Reference Year 1986-87.
  • The 6th MI Census Has Been Conducted With Reference Year 2017-18 In All States And Union Territories Except Delhi, Daman & Diu, Dadra And Nagar Haveli And Lakshadweep. The 1st  Census Of Water Bodies Has Also Been Taken Up In Convergence With 6th MI Census.

Deendayal Port-Mega-Container Terminal

  • Deendayal Port Authority & DP World Have Signed A Concession Agreement.
  • The Project Involves The Construction Of A Mega-Container Terminal At Tuna-Tekra Near The Existing Deendayal Port, At A Cost Of Over 4,243 Crores Rupees Through A Public Private Partnership.
  • Once Completed The Terminal Will Have An Annual Capacity Of 2.19 Million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUS) And Will Include A 1,100 Metre Berth Capable Of Handling Next-Generation Vessels Carrying More Than 18,000 Teus.
  • This Concession Agreement Is A Part Of  Target Of Identifying Investment Opportunities Of More Than 10 Lakh Crore Rupees In Indian Maritime Sector Ahead Of The Global Maritime Summit 2023.
