  • Situation in Jammu & Kashmir

4 terrorists have been killed in the encounter between personnel of Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force, police & terrorists in Gudder area of Kulgam; Operation is still underway.

  • BRO opened Rohtang Pass

Rohtang Pass is a high mountain pass on the eastern Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas around 51 km from Manali. It connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys of Himachal Pradesh, India.

  • US officially launches next generation Missile interceptor programme

The US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has been extolling plans for a next-generation interceptor for the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) systems.

Eventually, two companies will be selected who will compete for the right to build the interceptor, according to the research, development, and acquisition agency that works on ballistic missile defence systems for the US.

  • RAN, US Navy join forces for South China Sea patrol

The Royal Australian Navy frigate HMAS Parramatta (FFG 154) began sailing with Ticonderoga Class guided missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill (CG 52) then rendezvoused with amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) and Arleigh-Burke Class guided missile destroyer USS Barry (DDG 52) on 18 April.

Operations with Parramatta have included integrated live fire exercises, coordinated helicopter operations, small boat force protection drills, command and control integration, and manoeuvring interoperability.

The US and Australia share a long history of integrated military exercises. Over 3,000 US Sailors and Marines had the opportunity to observe or participate in the combined exercise.

The successful collaboration between the Royal Australian Air Force and the US Space Force’s (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Centre’s (SMC) Space Surveillance Telescope (SST) Program following the platform’s relocation to Harold E. Holt Naval Communications Station in Western Australia.

  • Airbus achieves air-to-air refuelling milestone with F-16 jet

This is the first ever fully-automatic air-to-air refuelling (A3R) operation incorporating a boom system. The flight test campaign, conducted earlier in the year over the Atlantic Ocean, involved an Airbus tanker test aircraft equipped with the Airbus A3R solution, with a Portuguese Air Force F-16 fighter aircraft acting as a receiver.

Australia has officially transferred Adelaide Class frigates Melbourne and Newcastle to the Chilean Navy during a commissioning ceremony on 15 April at HMAS Watson Naval Base in Sydney. The two frigates are undergoing a basic refit at Garden Island shipyard in Sydney.
