Defence Minister Rajnath Singh performs ‘Shastra Pooja’ on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami

Raksha Mantri In Auli, Uttarakhand, Shri Rajnath Singh celebrated Vijaya Dashami with Jawans from the Armed Forces and ITBP members. During his visit, Raksha Mantri performed Shastra Puja and praised the role played by the military and paramilitary in safeguarding the safety and advancement of the country’s economy.

Interacting with the people in uniform is always a source of motivation, Shri Rajnath Singh remarked in an impromptu speech to the jawans. He emphasised the pride and confidence that the entire country has in our Jawans’ ability and their service to the defence of the nation. Raksha Mantri praised the part played by our soldiers in defending the country from foreign threats. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has been able to pursue economic development and achieve unprecedented heights of prosperity,” he stated.

Raksha Mantri also praised the jawans’ unmatched bravery and courage during the Galwan incident. India, he said, adheres to the idea that “the entire globe is one family,” but responds appropriately if a foreigner casts an unfavourable eye. He continued: As a result of such boldness, the entire world acknowledged India’s rising prominence and India became one of the major decision-makers on all matters of international significance. In international fora, India is respected and taken seriously.

Shri Rajnath Singh also discussed the importance of Shastra Puja and emphasised the customs and distinctiveness of Indian culture, which places an emphasis on the interconnectedness of all things. They instruct us to recognise the value of all things, both living and non-living, that contribute to our life, including “shastra” (weapons), which help us protect ourselves, he continued.

The Jawans then engaged Raksha Mantri in conversation as they joyfully celebrated Vijaya Dashami and took part in the event. On this occasion, Jawans also sang patriotic songs.

Senior officers and soldiers from the armed forces and ITBP were present at the event, along with Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande and GOC-in-C Surya Command Lt. Gen. Yogendra Dimri.
