Delian Alliance Industries Unveils Interceptigon Series for Coastal Defense

In a significant advancement for coastal defense technologies, Greece-based Delian Alliance Industries has unveiled its new line of autonomous one-way effectors, known as the Interceptigon series. Among the first platforms introduced is the Interceptigon-A, a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) specifically engineered for operations in remote and complex terrain. This UAV is designed to integrate seamlessly with its environment before executing high-speed attacks on both surface and aerial targets.

Complementing the UAV is the Interceptigon-N, an unmanned surface vessel (USV) that employs stealth technology to avoid early detection by remaining submerged on the seabed. This vessel is ideally suited for operations in littoral zones and narrow waterways, offering the capability to launch surprise attacks on naval assets, particularly in proximity to ports.

Both platforms are positioned as quickly deployable and attritable effectors, equipped with kinetic energy and explosive payloads. They can operate independently or collaborate in swarms alongside other drones, enhancing tactical flexibility and operational effectiveness.

CEO Dimitrios Kottas emphasized the company’s strategic focus, stating, “We are not in the business of building traditional weapons. We’re building autonomous denial systems for sovereign nations defending their territorial integrity or exclusive economic zones that don’t have the luxury of strategic depth or time. Interceptigon is about readiness, resilience, and sovereignty.”

Delian Alliance Industries has highlighted the Interceptigon line as a low-cost and scalable solution for anti-access/area denial strategies, particularly relevant to regions such as the Nordic area, the Baltic, the Aegean, and Southeast Asia.

The Interceptigon-A UAV is notable for its capability to operate in environments where GPS signals may be compromised, thanks to its advanced navigation system known as OSIRIS. This proprietary technology utilizes visual map matching combined with odometry, achieving a navigation error of less than 0.1 percent, even amidst electronic warfare scenarios. With a payload capacity of 371 grams (13 ounces), the UAV can cruise at speeds of up to 100 kilometers (62 miles) per hour, covering a range of 40 kilometers (24 miles).

In contrast, the Interceptigon-N USV can carry a payload of 70 kilograms (154 pounds) and is capable of maintaining a sustained speed of 45 knots (83 kilometers/51 miles per hour) for a distance of 30 kilometers (18 miles).

Both platforms are currently in the developmental and testing phases, with further evaluations planned throughout the year to finalize their specifications. The unveiling of the Interceptigon series marks a notable step forward in the realm of autonomous defense solutions, promising to enhance the operational capabilities of nations facing complex security challenges.
