In a significant move to bolster border security, Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (DG SSB) Shri Sanjay Singhal, IPS, recently undertook an inspection of Border Outposts (BOPs) managed by the 3rd Battalion along the Indo-Nepal border. This visit underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring a robust defense mechanism in sensitive regions.
During the inspection, DG Singhal meticulously reviewed the operational preparedness of the troops stationed at the border and evaluated the vigilance measures that have been implemented. Engaging directly with personnel, he assessed their readiness to respond to any challenges that may arise, commending their diligence and hard work in maintaining security and integrity along the frontier.
Highlighting the importance of their role, Shri Singhal expressed admiration for the troops’ relentless dedication to their duties, especially during demanding circumstances. He emphasized that the SSB’s responsibilities extend beyond mere border protection, encompassing efforts to cultivate harmony and collaboration with local communities residing near the border.
The SSB, which operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Home Affairs, is tasked with safeguarding the extensive 1,751 km Indo-Nepal border. Regular inspections and interactions from senior leadership are part of a broader strategy to enhance troop morale, improve operational efficiency, and reaffirm the organization’s unwavering commitment to national security.
Through such initiatives, the SSB aims to foster a secure environment while maintaining positive relations with border communities, ultimately contributing to the stability and safety of the region.
