The Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gwalior marked a significant milestone for the National Cadet Corps (NCC). A notable moment occurred when Major General APS Chahal, SM, the Additional Director General for the West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate, engaged with cadets and recognized the exceptional achievements of individuals from the Directorate.
During his address to the cadets, Maj Gen Chahal emphasized their dedication, discipline, and enthusiasm, encouraging them to maintain a commitment to excellence while honoring the rich heritage of the NCC. He articulated the vital role of character building, leadership, and national service as foundational elements in the training of cadets.
The subsequent felicitation ceremony served to spotlight cadets and Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) who had distinguished themselves and brought honor to their groups through outstanding performance. Among the celebrated individuals was Lt Padma, a representative from the Darjeeling & Sikkim Group, who led her company with remarkable distinction, earning the highly sought-after Individual Gold Medal.
Additionally, another standout was Ms. Padma, a cadet from Khan College affiliated with the 6 Girls Battalion in Kharagpur Group. She achieved notable success in her ANO Course, receiving the Best in Special Skills Award. Both recipients were widely commended for their hard work, determination, and the prestige they have contributed to their respective groups.
The event underscored the NCC’s pivotal role as a leading youth organization dedicated to fostering discipline, leadership, and a spirit of patriotism among young individuals across India.
