Dramatic Rescue Operation Saves Minor Boy Stranded in Rajouri River Amid Heavy Rainfall

A dramatic rescue took place in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir following intense rainfall that caused a swift rise in the Rajouri river, endangering a minor boy who became stranded midstream. The situation prompted a coordinated response from the Indian Army, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local police, and civilian divers, who all worked together in a high-stakes rescue mission.

Witnesses at the scene reported seeing the boy trapped on a rock, surrounded by turbulent waters, rendering him unable to escape. Upon receiving the alert, district authorities promptly initiated a joint operation to save the boy. Given the perilous conditions, which included heavy rainfall and rapidly flowing water, an Army helicopter was deployed to assist with the rescue effort.

The rescue operation showcased the effective collaboration between air and ground teams. Despite facing challenging weather and hazardous currents, the teams successfully airlifted the boy to safety and transported him to a secure location for medical observation. Fortunately, he has been reported safe.

District Magistrate Abhishek Sharma, who oversaw the rescue mission, commended the courage and teamwork displayed by all involved. He stated, “They are risking their own lives and saving the lives of others. All teams were deployed here so that we could save his life at all costs.”

The swift and effective response has garnered widespread appreciation from local residents as well as civil authorities, who view the operation as a remarkable example of collaborative emergency response. This incident not only highlights the effectiveness of coordinated disaster management but also demonstrates the unwavering dedication of security forces to safeguarding civilian lives in the face of natural disasters.
