NestAI, a Finnish company specializing in command-and-control (C2) systems and intelligent unmanned technologies, is making strides in the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) within defense applications. The company has successfully secured a substantial investment of 100 million euros (approximately $115 million) from telecommunications giant Nokia and the Finnish sovereign wealth fund Tesi. This financial boost aims to enhance the development of AI-driven unmanned vehicles, autonomous operations, and advanced C2 platforms.
The recent funding round is not only focused on immediate technological advancements but also paves the way for the establishment of what is expected to become “Europe’s leading physical AI lab.” This lab will spearhead research initiatives that leverage various AI technologies, including large language models, to innovate in robotics and real-world systems.
The combination of NestAI’s expertise and significant financial backing signifies a promising future for defense tech in Europe, particularly in the realm of AI integration. As the company embarks on this ambitious journey, it has positioned itself at the forefront of a burgeoning industry, potentially reshaping military operations and technologies on the continent.
