On the occasion of New Year 2026, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), visited the Base Hospital in Delhi Cantt to engage with both serving personnel and veterans receiving treatment. The visit highlights the Army’s commitment to the welfare of its members, emphasizing the importance of support and recovery.
During his time at the hospital, General Dwivedi expressed profound appreciation for the indomitable spirit exhibited by soldiers and veterans as they navigate their recoveries from injuries and health challenges. He took the opportunity to extend heartfelt New Year wishes and offered prayers for their swift recovery, reiterating the Army’s dedication to its personnel and veterans.
The COAS also praised the medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics, for their exceptional professionalism and dedication. He recognized their relentless efforts to provide high-quality and compassionate medical care, essential for the physical and emotional well-being of both serving soldiers and veterans, along with their families.
He acknowledged the integral role of the Armed Forces Medical Services, noting that they serve as a crucial pillar of operational readiness and morale, vital during both peacetime and conflict.
