A group of girl cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) at Government Women Degree College in Kathua recently had the opportunity to visit the Dhangu Military Station in Pathankot. This visit was organized as part of an exposure programme designed to provide insights into the life and operations within the Indian Army.
The cadets experienced firsthand the Army’s training routines and operational responsibilities, gaining a deeper understanding of the various challenges and opportunities that come with a career in military service. This interaction not only enhanced their knowledge but also sparked inspiration among the participants about a potential future in the Armed Forces.
During their time at the military station, the cadets engaged in discussions that emphasized the importance of women’s participation in defence services. The interactions highlighted the growing commitment to encouraging more young women to pursue careers in the Armed Forces, aiming to build a more inclusive environment within the military.
The visit served as a motivational platform, instilling key values such as discipline, courage, and a sense of duty towards the nation. It aimed to inspire young women to step into leadership roles and become future leaders and warriors, reinforcing the idea that a career in the military is both challenging and rewarding.
Initiatives like this one play a vital role in strengthening the relationship between the Armed Forces and the youth. They provide opportunities for NCC cadets to visualize themselves in leadership positions, contributing effectively to national security. This visit represents a significant stride in shaping a new generation of empowered and capable women officers within the Indian Army.
