Hezbollah’s leadership has issued a stern warning following the recent assassination of its high-ranking military commander, Haytham Ali Tabtabai, in a strike that took place in Beirut’s southern suburbs. Speaking during a televised address, Deputy Secretary-General Naim Qassem described the attack as “a blatant aggression and a heinous crime,” asserting the group’s entitlement to retaliate. Qassem highlighted that the Iran-backed organization has adhered to a ceasefire established in November 2024, which aimed to halt over a year of hostilities with Israel. However, he criticized Israel for its ongoing military actions against Lebanon, insisting that these attacks must cease.
