Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted twice every year by the Indian Air Force (IAF) to recruit candidates for the Class-I Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical). AFCAT is an exam for both male and female candidates who wish to join the Indian Air Force for both Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission or Short Service Commission in Ground Duties for both Technical and Non-Technical roles. The AFCAT Written Exam consists of four Sections: General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. Each section consists of 25 questions. Thus, the question paper of AFCAT has a total of 100 objective questions for a total of 300 marks. The time duration for the AFCAT paper is of 2 hours. Each question in the AFCAT Verbal Ability in English section consists of 3 marks and a penalty of 1 mark for every incorrect answer. Thus, a total of 75 marks is devoted for a total of 25 questions in AFCAT English section.
