IAEA Reports No Increase in Radiation Levels in Iran Following US Air Strikes

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has announced that it has not observed any increase in radiation levels at critical nuclear sites in Iran following recent airstrikes by the United States. This statement was made on Sunday as tensions escalated over military actions targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

The IAEA confirmed its findings via a post on X, addressing concerns raised in the international community. The agency’s assurance came just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump proclaimed that the strikes had “totally obliterated” Iran’s primary nuclear sites located in Fordo, Isfahan, and Natanz.

In a coordinated response, Saudi Arabian regulatory authorities also reported that “no radioactive effects were detected” in the Gulf region as a result of the American strikes. The Kingdom’s Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission shared its assessment through a post on X, further calming fears of potential environmental impact from the military actions.

Kuwait’s National Guard issued a similar statement, asserting that “radiation levels in Kuwait’s airspace and waters are stable and the situation is normal.” The remarks from both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait emphasize a regional consensus on the absence of immediate fallout from the targeted strikes.

As the situation develops, the focus remains on maintaining regional stability while monitoring for any longer-term effects that may arise from these military actions. The international community is keenly observing responses from Iran and other stakeholders as tensions continue to rise in the area.
