Recent Crashes
Last week, an additional fuel tank from an Indian Air Force MiG-29 jet became dislodged during a training session and crashed in a jungle near the Kalaikunda base in West Bengal’s Paschim Medinipur district. The MiG-29 was doing a typical training mission. There were no casualties or property damage as a result of the incident.
Following the crash of one of its MiG-21 fighter planes in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh on May 8, the Indian Air Force has temporarily grounded its fleet of roughly 50 MiG-21 combat planes. According to published reports, all MiG-21 aircraft are presently undergoing technical examination and tests, and they will be allowed to fly only after clearance from the personnel conducting the inspection.

India is the 16th country to choose the Apache, which is used by the United States Army and an increasing number of foreign defence forces. According to the Boeing website, the Indian Air Force has a fleet of 22 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, and in 2020, Boeing signed an agreement with the Government of India for the acquisition of six more Apache helicopters for the Indian Army.
