Indian Army and J&K Police Bust Terrorist Hideout in Kupwara, Recover Arms and Ammunition

In a significant development in counter-terrorism efforts, the Indian Army, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) Kashmir, successfully dismantled a terrorist hideout in the Kalaroos area of Kupwara district. This operation, part of the larger Operation Nagni TOP, led to the recovery of a substantial cache of arms and ammunition over a span of three days, following precise intelligence inputs.

During the operation, the security forces unearthed a range of weapons, including one pistol, two magazines, twelve grenades, and several rounds of ammunition. The Chinar Corps confirmed the details in a recent post on X, highlighting the operation’s significance in the ongoing battle against terrorism in the region.

This strategic operation coincides with intensified security measures throughout Jammu and Kashmir, marking the anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, a move that has garnered widespread attention and heightened tensions in the area.

In a related development, a subsequent operation in the Akhal Devsar area of Kulgam resulted in the neutralization of one terrorist. This encounter unfolded late on a Friday night, initiated by credible intelligence suggesting the presence of militants in the vicinity. The ensuing gunfight persisted overnight, underscoring the continuous efforts of joint security forces in combating terrorism in the region.

Both operations exemplify the ongoing dedication of Indian security forces to maintain peace and security in Jammu and Kashmir, amidst complex and challenging circumstances.
