Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS), recently presided over the prestigious Innoयोद्धा 2025, the Indian Army’s flagship Idea and Innovation Competition, which took place at the Manekshaw Centre. This significant event showcased a variety of promising innovations developed by soldiers from throughout the Army, reflecting their creativity and practical problem-solving abilities.

During the proceedings, the VCOAS recognized and honored the top 32 innovators for their outstanding contributions. He commended their dedication, ingenuity, and unwavering commitment to addressing real-world operational challenges faced by the Army. General Singh highlighted the crucial role that on-ground soldiers play in identifying battlefield problems quickly and developing effective mission-oriented solutions.

This year’s competition attracted a total of 89 innovations from various arms of the service, all of which underwent a thorough evaluation process to ensure that only the most relevant and potentially impactful ideas were selected for final presentation. The rigorous selection aimed to highlight innovations that could enhance operational readiness, logistical efficiency, and training standards across multiple field formations.

The top 32 innovations showcased at Innoयोद्धा 2025 are set to be advanced for production by the Army Design Bureau (ADB). This initiative underscores the Army’s commitment to integrating effective solutions into its operations to maintain a state of readiness.

A notable highlight of the event was the release of the Compendium of Ideas & Innovation 2025–26. This publication serves as a comprehensive document detailing emerging concepts, technologies, and prototypes that have been developed by Army personnel, showcasing the growing culture of innovation within the ranks.

Additionally, the event included the formalization of Transfer of Technology (ToT) for two significant innovations. This move represents a deeper collaboration between the Indian Army and domestic defense industry stakeholders, aimed at accelerating the process of indigenization.

Innoयोद्धा 2025 reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to fostering indigenous talent and promoting in-house innovation, ensuring that the organization remains future-ready. The event exemplified how soldier-led initiatives can effectively drive self-reliance and operational excellence within the Indian Army.
