In a significant ceremony held in Bhuj, Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, presented the esteemed Veteran Achievers Award to four distinguished individuals, highlighting their extraordinary contributions to society even after their military service. The awards were conferred on Colonel Shagun Bhatnagar (Retd), Major Aditya Vikram Singh (Retd), Lance Naik Sodha Dipubha Ratanji (Retd), and Naik Bharat Bhai J Suthar (Retd) on 01 October 2025.
This initiative celebrates veterans who have exhibited exceptional dedication and a steadfast commitment to nation-building in various capacities, thereby upholding the values instilled during their time in the Indian Army.
Colonel Shagun Bhatnagar (Retd) has been pivotal in empowering the veteran community in the Kutch district. His efforts in organizing operational and training events, such as the Multi-Modal Adventure Expedition, have not only improved the readiness of veterans but have also played a crucial role in enhancing civil-military relations. His outreach programs in local schools and villages have significantly contributed to integrating veterans into community life.
Major Aditya Vikram Singh (Retd), who is currently the Director General of Human Resources & Administration at Adani Green RE Park, showcased exemplary leadership during his service, particularly during Operation Sindoor. He was instrumental in providing vital engineering and logistical support that enabled the effective deployment of troops in challenging terrains like the Rann. His post-retirement endeavors further reflect his undying commitment to national service and leadership.
Naik Bharat Bhai J Suthar (Retd), presently serving as the Secretary of the Kutch Ex-Servicemen Association, has been a key figure in rallying veterans for participation in various outreach initiatives. His proactive approach in addressing welfare concerns within the veteran community has fostered a sense of solidarity and support among ex-servicemen.
Lance Naik Sodha Dipubha Ratanji (Retd) demonstrated outstanding dedication to disaster management during the recent monsoon floods, ensuring the safety of both people and livestock in affected areas. His contributions extended to facilitating the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), helping deserving families secure housing.
