The Indian Army has initiated a significant partnership with the Drishti Group, including Drishti IAS and VDK Eduventures Pvt. Ltd., aimed at providing exclusive educational discounts to its personnel and their families. This groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed recently in the national capital, showcases the Army’s dedication to enhancing the academic and professional development of its members beyond their military duties.
Under the terms of the agreement, both serving and retired Army personnel, along with their spouses and children, will benefit from a 40 percent discount on all online coaching courses and a 25 percent discount on offline courses provided by Drishti IAS. These courses encompass a broad array of competitive examinations including the UPSC Civil Services Exam, State Public Service Commission exams, Judiciary exams, CUET, and various teaching eligibility tests.
The formal signing ceremony reflected a spirit of collaboration and mutual respect, with senior officials from both the Indian Army and the Drishti Group in attendance. A ceremonial backdrop, adorned with military insignia and national emblems, served as a powerful reminder of the Army’s enduring legacy and its evolving commitment to the welfare of its personnel.
This initiative is part of a larger strategic effort by the Indian Army to enhance educational access and promote socio-economic mobility within its ranks. The Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) has historically played a crucial role in managing a network of schools and higher education institutions dedicated to the children of Army personnel. Additionally, previous collaborations with institutions like the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) have aimed to tackle the unique lifestyle and mobility challenges faced by soldiers and their families.
Drishti IAS, established in 1999, is renowned for its structured, research-based approach to competitive exam preparation. Over the years, the organization has broadened its focus to include programs for the judiciary, teaching, and state-level exams. Its commitment to accessibility and inclusive education strongly aligns with the objectives of this new partnership.
The collaboration has been hailed as a vital step toward nation-building, combining efforts from both the defense and education sectors to create a lasting impact. It not only provides affordable learning opportunities for soldiers and their families but also enhances their prospects in civilian life, further solidifying the Indian Army’s image as a progressive and people-centric institution.
Through this partnership, the Indian Army continues to invest in the future of its people, promoting intellectual empowerment while fulfilling its critical national security roles.
