Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Applicants must be:
- Citizens of India, or
- Subjects of Nepal, or
- Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (as per Government of India rules).
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 20 and 27 years of age as on 1 October 2026. This means the candidate should be born between 1 October 1999 and 30 September 2006 (both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualification
Applicants must have:
- A B.E./B.Tech degree in notified engineering streams, or
- Be in the final year of the engineering course, provided they can submit proof of passing the degree by 1 October 2026.
Only degrees from AICTE/UGC-recognized universities or institutions are accepted. Any mismatch between the engineering stream mentioned in documents and the online application can lead to rejection.

Selection Procedure
The selection process consists of multiple stages:
- Shortlisting of Applications

Training and Stipend
Selected candidates undergo 49 weeks of training at PCTA. During training:
- A fixed monthly stipend of ₹56,100 is paid.
- On commissioning, candidates are granted the rank of Lieutenant.
Pay and Allowances After Commissioning
After commissioning, officers are entitled to:
- Pay Level 10 as per the 7th Pay Commission
- Military Service Pay (MSP) for eligible ranks
- Dearness Allowance, Technical Allowance, Field Area Allowance, and other admissible benefits
The approximate annual package after commissioning ranges between ₹17–18 lakh, excluding additional allowances.
Promotion and Career Growth
Officers are promoted based on time-bound and selection-based criteria:
- Lieutenant → Captain (after 2 years)
- Captain → Major (after 6 years)
- Further promotions up to Colonel and higher ranks are possible based on service record and vacancies.
