A 14-member delegation from the Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Shivaji visited the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad on September 26-27, 2025, as part of their Annual Training Visit Calendar. The primary objective of the visit was to enhance inter-service synergy and provide naval officers with a comprehensive understanding of the Indian Army’s technical training ecosystem.
During their two-day visit, the delegation received an in-depth overview of MCEME’s pivotal role in offering advanced technical training to not just officers but also Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and technicians within the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME). The officers were briefed on the state-of-the-art training methodologies employed at MCEME, including access to cutting-edge laboratories and simulation-based learning systems designed to equip personnel with the necessary skills for sustaining and maintaining advanced defense technologies.
The delegation had the opportunity to explore various ongoing indigenisation initiatives and modern infrastructure at MCEME that supports the innovation and maintenance of crucial military assets. This includes weapon systems, aviation platforms, electronic warfare assets, and next-generation communication technologies, all of which are critical for ensuring operational readiness and battlefield superiority.
This visit was emblematic of the spirit of jointness and integration between the Indian Army and Indian Navy. It fostered cross-service learning and played a vital role in strengthening institutional ties, which are essential in addressing the increasingly complex technological and operational challenges of modern warfare. Such collaborative efforts are pivotal in reinforcing India’s preparedness for multidomain operations, emphasizing the importance of a unified approach among the armed forces in facing future challenges.
