A training glider of Southern Naval Command (SNC) crashed during a routine training exercise on Sunday morning killing the two personnel onboard. The glider reportedly crashed along the walkway near Thoppumpady BOT Bridge while returning to INS Garuda at around 7am.
Lt Rajeev Jha and Petty officer Sunil Kumar Poela were taken to INHS Sanjivani where they were declared brought dead.
