According to the officials, one of the Dornier planes made a low descent to 500 feet above sea level to signal its presence to the survivor pilot and reassure him that he has been found and would soon be carried to safety.

A naval ALH Dhruv helicopter was also given the precise location of the survivor, and it also arrived at the scene to pick up the pilot.

The two Dorniers were summoned back after they finished their mission within 40 minutes of being launched, as soon as the helicopter picked up the pilot.
