A team from INS Khanjar, led by its Commanding Officer, Commander Lav Bhardwaj, attended the 85th Raising Day celebrations of the 6 Kumaon Regiment, marking a significant occasion that showcased the robust relationship between the Indian Army and the Indian Navy. The event emphasized the principles of jointmanship and inter-service camaraderie, illustrating the unified front presented by the two branches of the armed forces in serving the nation.

In a solemn tribute to the soldiers of the 6 Kumaon Regiment who sacrificed their lives for the country, Commander Bhardwaj, representing Rear Admiral Susheel Menon, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet (FOCEF), laid a wreath at the Hut of Remembrance. This act of honoring the regiment’s rich legacy was a touching reminder of their valor and dedication to their duties.

INS Khanjar has the unique distinction of being affiliated with two esteemed units of the Indian Army: the Kumaon Regiment and the Naga Regiment. This unique relationship not only epitomizes the historical ties between the naval and land forces but also encourages a spirit of mutual respect, shared objectives, and operational coordination that is essential for the effectiveness of both forces in achieving national security.

The participation of the INS Khanjar team in this celebration reinforces the integrated approach of the Indian Armed Forces towards national defense. Such events serve as a platform to commemorate historic ties while simultaneously advocating for collaborative operations and unity, critical elements in the ongoing efforts to protect the nation.
