IPS Probationers of 77th RR Batch

Trainees from the 77th Regular Recruit (RR) batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS) embarked on a significant visit to the Shaurya Officers’ Institute of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today. This engagement was designed to provide the probationers with structured exposure to one of the country’s principal internal security forces.

During their visit, the IPS probationers received a comprehensive orientation that shed light on the operational roles, organizational structure, and modernization efforts currently underway within the CRPF. The presentations highlighted the force’s extensive deployment in various operational environments, ranging from counter-insurgency zones to areas affected by Left Wing Extremism, illustrating the CRPF’s crucial role in maintaining national internal peace and stability.

A key moment in the visit was a thought-provoking address delivered by Shri GP Singh, the Director General of the CRPF. He spoke candidly about the contemporary internal security challenges that India faces, encouraging the young officers to embrace and uphold core values such as integrity, fitness, professional knowledge, and discipline. According to him, these values are vital for effective policing and form the very foundation of credible leadership.

The purpose of this visit extended beyond mere observation; it was aimed at fostering a deeper understanding and synergy between the IPS and CRPF. This interaction allowed the probationers to appreciate the operational realities of India’s largest paramilitary force. Additionally, there was a strong emphasis on the necessity of inter-agency cooperation to effectively address evolving threats and ensure the safety and security of citizens throughout the nation.
