Iran has strongly condemned an alleged attack by Israel on a hospital in Kermanshah, describing it as a “war crime.” The assault reportedly targeted Farabi Hospital, located in the western part of the country, as stated by Esmaeil Baqaei, the spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry. He characterized the action as a grave infraction of international law, emphasizing that targeting medical facilities, in conjunction with strikes on residential areas, constitutes a serious violation of humanitarian norms.
According to earlier media reports, the intended target of the Israeli strike was a workshop located near the hospital, not the hospital itself. Nevertheless, Iranian officials have called the incident a blatant aggression on civilian infrastructure, further straining the already tense relations between Iran and Israel.
Baqaei’s remarks reflect Iran’s ongoing concerns about military conflicts in the region and the impact on civilian life, highlighting a broader critique of international responses to such actions. The Iranian government is expected to pursue a diplomatic approach in response to this incident, seeking to rally international condemnation of what it views as reckless military conduct by Israel.
