In a significant move to bolster border security and operational readiness, Shri Sanjay Gunjiyal, IPS, Additional Director General (Headquarters) of the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), along with Shri Manu Maharaaj, Inspector General of Northern Frontier, embarked on a visit to Mana Pass and the forward Border Outposts (BOPs) of the 23rd and 8th Battalions of the ITBP.
During this pivotal visit, the senior officers meticulously reviewed the operational preparedness and deployment readiness of personnel stationed in this strategically crucial high-altitude border region. Their comprehensive assessment included evaluating the units’ capabilities to respond effectively to evolving security challenges.
The delegation seized the opportunity to engage with personnel from the ITBP, the Indian Army, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). During these interactions, the officers expressed appreciation for the unwavering dedication, professionalism, and resilience demonstrated by these forces while navigating the challenges posed by difficult terrain and severe weather conditions.
A notable highlight of the trip was a Sainik Sammelan held at Malari, where the officers inspired the troops. They emphasized the critical importance of maintaining operational vigilance, fostering inter-agency coordination, and sustaining high morale among the personnel entrusted with safeguarding the nation’s borders.
This visit not only highlighted the commitment to enhancing border security but also reinforced the focus on effective disaster response and troop welfare, particularly in the remote sectors of the Himalayan region. The collaboration among various agencies underscores a holistic approach to national security, aimed at ensuring the safety and integrity of India’s borders while supporting the brave men and women serving in these challenging environments.
