Jungle survival training for officers of the 94th Regular and 25th SSC Naval Air Operations course was conducted off Vagamon from 11 to 13 February 2022.
The aim of the exercise was to provide a realistic exposure to the trainees and familiarise them with survival techniques in the jungle. The Jungle Survival Camp was flagged off by Commodore Vishal Roy, Commodore (Aviation), HQSNC.
17 trainee officers and two instructors from Naval Air Operations School attended the camp. Aircraft ex-Garuda were also involved in the exercise undertaking SAR, thereby giving a real-world feel to the trainees.
The activities conducted during the jungle survival training included safe usage of survival equipment including flares, exposure to jungle conditions, pitching of the tent, and exercising Ground to Air Emergency codes for visual communication.
