KNDS France Unveils Centurio-X30: A Cutting-Edge Unmanned Military Ground Vehicle for Heavy Fire Support at IDEX 2025

At the 2025 International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi, KNDS France has introduced its latest unmanned military ground vehicle, the Centurio-X30. This vehicle is engineered to provide robust fire support to dismounted units, catering to the modern battlefield’s demands for advanced unmanned systems.

The Centurio-X30 is built with sophisticated navigation capabilities that empower it to move through complex terrains, handling obstacles and difficult environments autonomously. This real-time battlefield analysis allows the vehicle to adapt its movements to dynamic situations, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and responsiveness during missions. Furthermore, the vehicle embraces a leader-follower mode, fostering effective collaboration between manned and unmanned units during operations, thereby improving coordination in combat scenarios.

One of the vehicle’s key features is its modular design, which facilitates the straightforward integration of additional weapons and sensors in the future. Such a design eliminates the need for major structural modifications, ensuring that the Centurio-X30 remains versatile and adaptable to evolving military needs.

In addition to combat engagements, the Centurio-X30 is also suitable for conducting routine patrols and reconnaissance missions. This capability allows manned units to redirect their focus toward other critical tasks, streamlining operational efficiency and resource allocation on the battlefield.

In terms of firepower, the Centurio-X30 is equipped with a formidable 30mm autocannon, engineered to effectively neutralize threats such as infantry, light armored vehicles, and fortified enemy positions. The vehicle features a remotely operated weapon system, enabling soldiers to engage targets with precision while minimizing their own exposure to danger during counterattacks.

The integrated targeting suite enhances its effectiveness, allowing for target engagement during both daytime and nighttime, as well as in adverse weather conditions. The autocannon has an impressive firing rate of 225 rounds per minute and boasts a maximum strike range of 1,500 meters (approximately 4,921 feet). To ensure operational flexibility, the armament can accommodate various ammunition types, including high-explosive incendiary rounds, armor-piercing rounds, and training projectiles.

The unveiling of the Centurio-X30 marks a significant leap in unmanned combat capabilities, reflecting the ongoing trend toward automation and technology in military vehicles. As defense forces around the world explore how best to integrate unmanned systems into their strategies, the Centurio-X30 positions itself as a potent asset on the modern battlefield.

The IDEX exhibition opened its doors to attendees, including notable visitors such as the Minister of the Armed Forces and the General Delegate for Armament, highlighting the significance of the event in showcasing cutting-edge military technology and innovation.
