As we all know that the third and fourth day at SSB is full of excitement as on these days candidates get a chance to perform with the whole group during the GTO tasks. Generally, GTO tasks are considered to be more physical, but there are some tasks under it which are more to be verbal then being physical. Lecturette is one of them.

This task has to be performed individually. In this GTO calls candidates one by one where they have to choose a card on which four topics are mentioned. Out of the 4 topics, candidates have to speak on any one of them. A candidate gets 3 minutes to prepare the case by himself and after that has to speak on it for 3 minutes in front of GTO and the whole group. Within the total duration of 3 minutes, GTO once rings the buzzer at 2 minutes 30 seconds indicating that the candidate has only 30 more seconds left and it’s the right time to conclude the topic. After the completion of 3 minutes, GTO double-tap the buzzer indicating that the time is over.

As the topics are concerned, I feel that there are no easy or hard topics in the card, but it’s your level of pre-preparation that decides it for you. However, it is believed that the topics on the top carry higher marks as compared to topics written below in the list. Topics do not have a specific area but consist of different natures. Whatever the topic you choose the main motive of yours should be to express your views on the topic to your audience effectively.
