The Leadership & Management Course officially began on 13 February 2026 at the Junior Leaders Academy (JLA) in Bareilly, representing a vital advancement in the pursuit of enhanced joint military professionalism and leadership development among the armed forces.
Participants in the course include junior leaders from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force, alongside 25 attendees from friendly foreign nations, such as Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Ivory Coast. This diverse representation underscores India’s commitment to bolstering defense cooperation, fostering military diplomacy, and promoting collective learning with allies.
The curriculum is meticulously designed to improve essential competencies in various areas, including leadership and management principles, personnel effectiveness, unit administration, and tactical proficiency. Notably, the course places a significant emphasis on current and emerging domains, such as drone warfare, joint integrated operations, and grey zone warfare. This focus is in line with the changing nature of modern conflict and reflects the necessity for armed forces to adapt to new challenges.
