Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), conducted a significant visit to the Armoured Corps Centre & School (ACC&S) in Ahilyanagar on January 5, 2026. The purpose of his visit was to review the current training standards, evaluate infrastructure development, and assess ongoing modernization initiatives within the institution.

During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma received an in-depth briefing on the Centre’s training philosophy, recent updates to the curriculum, and enhancements to infrastructure specifically designed to prepare armoured formations for both contemporary and future battlefield scenarios. He expressed his commendation for the Centre and School’s proactive training initiatives, acknowledging their commitment to upgrading facilities to meet the evolving operational demands of modern warfare.

In particular, Lt Gen Sharma highlighted the modernization efforts aligned with the Indian Army’s Year of Technology Absorption and the broader Decade of Transformation initiative. He recognized the pivotal role that the Armoured Corps plays in manoeuvre warfare and emphasized the necessity for the Corps to remain at the forefront of technological integration. This includes the incorporation of advancements in platforms, sensors, networking, and battlefield management systems, all vital for enhancing operational effectiveness.
