Lieutenant General AVS Rathee, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Konark Corps, recently conducted an extensive review of the operational readiness of the Bald Eagle Brigade in the strategically significant Rann and Creek sector. This visit serves as a testament to the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to enhance its preparedness in a region characterized by complex terrain, including marshlands, tidal flats, and creeks that delineate the India-Pakistan border.
The operational environment in this area presents unique challenges that necessitate high adaptability, mobility, and synergy among various security forces. During his visit, Lt Gen Rathee observed a large-scale multi-agency exercise that highlighted the seamless interoperability among the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Border Security Force (BSF), and Indian Coast Guard. This exercise simulated responses to a range of modern warfare scenarios, addressing issues such as cross-border infiltration, maritime security threats, and integrated coastal defense operations.
The multi-agency approach demonstrated the significance of joint operations, information sharing, and coordinated action in effectively countering emerging threats. It showcased the capability of Indian forces to conduct rapid and decisive operations within the Rann and Creek sector, an area with a history of hostilities and incursions.
Interacting with the troops, Lt Gen Rathee commended their professionalism, operational readiness, and dedication to national security. He urged all personnel to maintain vigilance and uphold the highest standards of preparedness in response to the evolving security landscape in the region.
