In a notable display of operational oversight and strategic readiness, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of Central Command, conducted a visit to the forward areas of Himachal Pradesh to evaluate the Tripeaks Brigade’s preparedness. This inspection emphasized the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to national security in challenging mountainous terrains.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sengupta praised the brigade’s significant contributions to enhancing combat readiness and its crucial role in fortifying India’s defensive posture along sensitive borders. He expressed appreciation for the brigade’s infrastructure development projects, which have been undertaken in the arduous conditions of high altitudes, thereby significantly boosting the Army’s operational capabilities. The Army Commander also acknowledged the brigade’s pioneering efforts in setting new standards in mountain warfare and border operations, reflecting the dynamic strategic priorities of the Indian Army in the region.
In conjunction with his inspection, Lt Gen Sengupta participated in the traditional ‘Shastra Puja’ ceremony, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashmi (Dussehra). This ritual, steeped in military history, symbolizes the sanctity and strength of the armed forces’ weapons and equipment, reaffirming the Army’s core values of valor, discipline, and dedication to duty.
